Recipe Grabber turns cooking videos into written recipes. It's run by Cody Stamps, an independent developer. This page explains what we collect, why, and who sees it. Questions go to support@codystamps.dev.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, and either a securely hashed password or, if you sign in with Google, the email and account ID Google shares with us.
  • What you grab and save. The video links you submit, the recipes they produce, and which recipes you save or favorite.
  • Your IP address, recorded when you sign up and when you grab a recipe, so we can stop one person from using many free accounts.
  • Billing details. If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe handles your payment. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan status. Your card number never reaches us.
  • Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets cookies and collects things like the pages you view, your device and browser, and your approximate location.
  • Cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember a trial or referral code you followed, and remember your light or dark theme.

How we use it

To run the service, keep your recipes in your account, enforce plan limits and prevent abuse, take payments, answer you when you write to us, and understand how to make Recipe Grabber better. We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show ads.

Recipes are public

Every recipe page, including ones you grab, can be viewed by anyone with the link, may appear in search engines, and may be shown on the home page. Recipe pages don't show who grabbed them. Your saved recipes, favorites and account details stay private.

Who we share it with

Only with the services that run Recipe Grabber, for that purpose:

  • DigitalOcean hosts the app and its database.
  • Stripe processes payments.
  • Google provides Google sign-in and Google Analytics.
  • Anthropic runs the AI (Claude) that reads a video's captions, description and comments and writes the recipe. We send it the video's content, not your account details.
  • YouTube is where we fetch public video information from.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your email, saved recipes and favorites. Recipes you grabbed may stay up as public pages, because other people may have saved them. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • To see, correct or delete your information, or delete your account, write to support@codystamps.dev from the email address on your account.
  • You can block Google Analytics with a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on.
  • Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as asking for a copy of your data or objecting to how we use it. Write to us and we'll help.

Children

Recipe Grabber isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll tell signed-in users on the site.

Recipes are pulled from each video's captions, description and comments. Always credit the original cook.
